Hi, my name is Karen Ladan. As a counselor, I believe that everyone has their own ability to heal from life's challenges and my job is to help you in that healing journey. I received my Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 1991 from Camrose Lutheran College (now Augustana University College). I then took a break in my educational journey and in 2019 I completed my Graduate Degree in Counselling from Athabasca University. In the time between degrees, I worked 10 years in Family Support Work with Children Services and then 20 years as a School Counselor. I'm a Certified Canadian Counselor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have experience with both youth and adult individual counselling concerned with anxiety, depression, grief and stress. I have training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Pictured with me is Mardy, who is an Certified Emotional Support Animal and accompanies me in counselling sessions for client's emotional support.
